With travel restrictions still prevailing, many of us are wistfully dreaming about our next vacation in a far-flung, sun-soaked destination. Two prominent Hong Kong brands, Black Sheep Restaurants and Tatler present the next best thing to boarding a plane this spring, bringing the charm of the Amalfi Coast to Hong Kong with a themed pop-up restaurant running from 2 April to 30 April. Located at Tai Kwun’s Magistracy building, Primavera Ad Amalfi evokes the coastal atmosphere of scenic seaside eateries perched atop the dramatic cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, replete with sublime seafood dishes, signature cocktails and boutique wines, a seaside soundtrack and genuine Italian hospitality.
Synonymous with endless summers, the Amalfi Coast is one of the world’s most idyllic coastlines, a picturesque assortment of colourful towns nestled into steep cliffsides, sun-dappled coves, and restaurants and cafés brimming with freshly caught ocean produce. Transforming the ground floor of the historical building at Tai Kwun, ‘Osteria Positano’ embraces this spirit of lazy Italian summers, offering an instant escape to the sun-drenched coast of Italy—perfect for those itching for their next adventure abroad.
Guests are invited to embrace the sweet life or ‘la dolce vita’, savouring delectable regional dishes inspired by one of the best food destinations in the world, chased down by a bottle of vino shared amongst friends and family. Seating a total of 52 guests, the eatery evokes warm nights in Amalfi with the scent of the ocean breeze and glittering coastline accompanying long, drawn-out meals, served by a cast of gregarious Italian waiters. A traditional ocean-inspired menu celebrates the diverse cuisine found in the seaside regions of Italy, offering a mouth-watering assortment of dishes curated by the Black Sheep Restaurants culinary team.
Savour a four-course set menu ($850 per person, served family-style), which includes a spread of crudos and salad to start, followed by housemade fresh pastas with spanner crab and zucchini alongside a classic Stozzapreti with pesto Genovese, and the showstopping Salt-baked Sea Bream to finish. An optional free-flow package features hand-selected Italian references, or choose from the à la carte menu for reasonably priced wines by the glass.
