The Metropolis museum opens to exhibit modern and classical art in Hong Kong

Filling a noticeable gap in Hong Kong’s art scene, the Metropolis museum opens its doors to deliver a fine art experience that is accessible to all art enthusiasts, whether scholars, the general public, or tourists. Officially launching on 23 March in Wong Chuk Hang, the Metropolis museum will offer the wonderful opportunity of viewing a one of its kind Monet exhibition. Appreciating classic masterpieces becomes possible in Hong Kong, like a Parisian would go to the Louvre.

With exceptionally curated thematic exhibitions and programmes, the Metropolis museum introduces classical western art through professionally commissioned hand painted reproductions, complemented with the most advanced printing technologies and innovative digital experiences. Technological activations such as 3D renderings, videos and augmented reality (AR) in particular play a key role in bringing the concept to fruition. This immersive art experience comes to life in the Metropolis museum’s inaugural exhibition - Monet, Perception of Light and Colour - featuring the landmark works of iconic Impressionist painter Claude Monet.
